Summary Description:
Clear, consistent communication is essential to a successful workplace. A well-written employee handbook helps clarify expectations, support compliance, and reflect organizational values. With new laws taking effect this summer in Washington and Oregon—including updates related to hate crime accommodation leave, personnel files, and Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)—this session will cover key policy updates to consider alongside general best practices.

Ben Eckhart, Attorney

Ben Eckhart is a seasoned labor and employment attorney who provides strategic counsel to Archbright members and clients across a wide range of workplace issues. With a practical and solutions-oriented approach, Ben conducts internal investigations, facilitates engaging and informative workplace trainings, and represents clients in union negotiations and collective bargaining.

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Ben is licensed to practice law in the state of Washington.
