Why Volunteer?

LWHRA is a volunteer-run association affiliated with SHRM, and offers a variety of opportunities for member involvement. Volunteerism may involve just a few hours of your time at a special event, or could be an ongoing weekly or monthly commitment.

There are many benefits to volunteering with LWHRA, including but not limited to:

Connect:

  • Build & strengthen your community of other HR professionals and individuals with diverse backgrounds, industries & organizations

  • Be a part of the premier HR organization in Washington state

  • Advocate for the priorities and values that matter to you as an HR professional

  • Exposure to local, state & national SHRM chapters

  • Grow your professional skills by taking on strategic projects, leadership roles, or learn a new skill that you may be struggling to developing in your work life

Requirements:

Must be a member of LWHRA (it’s easy! Just join SHRM and designate LWHRA as your home chapter)

Time Commitment:

We would love to find you the right size volunteer commitment – if you’re free 2 hours a month or 2 hours a day, we can find something that works for you. We want you to have an opportunity that is the right fit for you, allows you to make a meaningful contribution, and appreciate any contribution that you can make.
