LWHRA's Symposium is the largest all-day event organized by LWHRA, attracting more than 350 HR professionals. 2019 Symposium
HR Professionals are working in the knowledge economy. We know that information is our most valuable commodity and in an era where we are being pulled in multiple directions, our goal for the 2019 Symposium was to "Get Focused and Cut Out the Noise" for one day and focus on your development. 2018 Symposium
“Connect” by getting to know our members better - allow enough time for participants to connect with each other and communicate with exhibitors/sponsors.
“Grow” our community and the number of SHRM participants. We are working on various ways to increase our LWHRA membership and provide special Symposium packages for attendees, sponsors, and exhibitors.
“Serve” by helping members become servant leaders. Our members can support each other in careers and jobs while volunteering in one of LWHRA’s Committees or Special Interest Groups. Members have an opportunity to participate in the Mentorship Program in which mentors share their knowledge, skills, information, and perspective to foster the professional growth of mentees. A meaningful strategic relationship between HR and the organization is similar to a thriving marriage in which both parties work together to strengthen their bond. As a key business partner, a creative problem solver, and a subject matter expert, HR can play a valuable role in the relationship and move the organization towards success. 2016 Symposium
Many HR professionals gathered to mingle and find the missing pieces of competency in their puzzle. Breakout sessions were packed, presenters shared new tools, action plans were initiated, and rooms were buzzing with the exchange of ideas and laughter. Keynote Speakers hit a home run by filling all the bases: what, why, and how! Microsoft’s Cynthia Per-Lee woke everyone up by calling on us to “Be a Catalyst.” Emotions were stirred and a standing ovation ensued after the charismatic Mark Canlis delivered his people-centric leadership message to remind us that we have the “Courage to Change.” Learn more

The theme for this year's event is Be Inspired: Be Agile. The Symposium team has worked hard to find innovative speakers for the four different tracks: People, Organization, Strategy, and Workplace. There are four different tracks with four sessions in each category, giving you a choice of 16 classes! You may choose to stick to one track or you may choose sessions from various tracks.
