Building Better Professional Relationships Using Relationship Research

Session Description: You will learn about the science of relationships, and applying these skills at work. We will discuss using the Sound Relationship House for your workplace, and learn a few of our rituals to know our colleagues. Everyone knows trust is critical to relationships and healthy teams. Without it, productivity decreases, innovation is stunted, and absences can increase. How do we build trust in the workplace, and still keep boundaries? We will walk through some exercises we use to build connections with colleagues from an organization all about teaching healthy relationship skills. Together we will explore how to boost creativity in the workplace, develop a safe environment to succeed and fail, and explore ways for you to build connections and trust in your workplace.

Speaker Bio:
Amy Loftis has worked for The Gottman Institute (TGI) as the Director of Professional Development since 2016. In that time, she has seen how research-based couples therapy techniques can be used to strengthen relationships in the workplace and influence the field of Human Resources. In her role, she oversees multiple clinical and professional training programs alongside the dedicated and diligent professional development staff of TGI.

Nikki Kloeppel is an insightful Storyteller, Leadership Coach and Motivator. She creates transformational changes so people can find more joy, success and purpose in their personal and professional lives. Nikki Kloeppel specializes in the area of consulting, employee development and training. Her style is interactive, humorous and high energy to keep people engaged and achieving performance shifts. She has been the Global Account Manager and liaison between Microsoft and Dale Carnegie Training since 2002.
