Session Description: Effective relationships are established and maintained on the basis of trust and respect which are extended through the practices of honor and justice in how you deal with others. Without trust and respect and trust, relationships break down, and this extends even, to the relationship you have with yourself. This session will focus on the martial arts concepts and philosophies as applied to building relationships through trust and respect. You will learn the factors to consider that support interest, compatibility, and effective collaboration with another person. Through concepts, philosophies, and stories, you will learn the keys to building and maintaining effective relationships with anyone, including your managers, your direct reports, external or internal clients, and even to family and friends.

Speaker Bio:
Dawn L. Roe has over 25 years of professional and managerial experience in human resources, leadership development, coaching and consulting. She has worked with global corporations, post-secondary institutions, and government entities in a variety of industries.
Currently, she is Vice President Human Resources for ABODA by RESIDE, and RESIDE Worldwide, Inc. a premier provider of alternative and corporate housing solutions. Prior to that, she was Director of Executive Education at the University of Washington Bothell and Director of Executive Education for New York University, Abu Dhabi.
Ms. Roe has spent over twenty years teaching and facilitating leadership development and human resource courses for U.C. Berkeley Extension, University of Washington Bothell MBA Program, and NYU Abu Dhabi Executive Education.
Ms. Roe holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and an M.B.A. in Marketing, with Distinction, from National University. She is a certified executive coach and training facilitator, an Achieve Global certified instructor, and a Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) certified facilitator.
