Impact of Federal, State and Local Laws on Collective Bargaining Strategies

Session Description:
Employers with collective bargaining agreements have had to respond to numerous local, state and federal laws at negotiations.  Unionized employers must balance changing  laws with contract language. The Pension Protection Act, Affordable Healthcare Act, paid leave laws, minimum wage and legal marijuana should be addressed when preparing for bargaining and possibly reflected in a new contract.   In addition to new laws impacting your union contract, employers must be prepared to respond to lack of skilled workers, social media and wage compression.
