Candidate Experience in the Game of Talent Attraction

NEW! Cancellation Policy:

LWHRA will accept cancellations received on or before ten (10) day prior to the event. Registrants who cancel on or before ten (10) days prior to the event will receive a refund, less $20 processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after ten (10) days prior to the event. A substitute attendee will be permitted given the LWHRA office receives notice of the substitution on or before ten (10) days prior to the event. After ten (10) days prior to the event, the following conversion fees will apply:

  • Event registrations $100 or greater: $25 substitution fee
  • Event registrations less than $100: $10 substitution fee

Presentation Description:

Building a compelling, meaningful candidate experience is not only an important part of the talent attraction and acquisition discipline of HR, but it is also critical to the success of any company’s People Strategy. Helping candidates experience your unique culture from touch one through onboarding increases your brand but also cements their ability to land and thrive. This presentation is designed to provide HR professionals with knowledge and guidance on the impact of candidate experience on the overall talent acquisition strategy, an important pillar of the Human Resources Strategy. Participants will leave with ideas and tools that they can implement to enhance their company’s candidate experience.

 

  1. The presentation will include information on the business case for a compelling candidate experience as part of an overall employer brand.
  2. Participants will see components of a candidate experience program and how to apply it to their talent lifecycle.
  3. The presentation will provide an overview of cultural program attributes and how to build those into an employee experience program.
  4. Real-life examples will be provided on how to connect a candidate experience to the employee experience.
  5. Tools for measuring KPIs and program iteration will be provided

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Participants will understand the Importance of candidate experience as part of the employer brand.
  2. Participants will experience how to design the candidate experience throughout the candidate lifecycle.
  3. Participants will learn about cultural attributes and how to flavor the candidate experience with them.
  4. Participants will obtain ideas on how to connect the candidate experience to the employee experience.
  5. Participants will learn how to set KPIs for candidate experience and implement those learnings to iterate their programs.

Speaker Bio:

Amber Ushka, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has over 25 years of experience in business and human resources. She holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation with an additional certification as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). Amber held numerous sales and marketing leadership positions before moving to Human Resources to follow her passion. Amber is the CEO of Verte Square, LLC, a six-year-old boutique HR consulting firm that helps companies discover, engage and empower their most important resource – PEOPLE. In her work, she helps clients build talent attraction and acquisition strategies, culture models and change agency for healthy cultures and talent management programs which connect the dots for employees.  Prior roles include Vice President, HR at Onvia and HR leadership roles at both Corbis Images and Microsoft. She has enjoyed speaking at both LWHRA and Seattle SHRM events and trainings, as well as panels with Davis, Wright, Tremaine and Staffing Management Association. She lives in Bellevue and spends time with her husband, four sons and daughter-in-law.

Waiting List:

If the registration deadline has passed, you are welcome to arrive at the venue at 11:00 AM and enter your name on the waiting list. We will accommodate walk-ins whenever space is available. The onsite registration fee is $55 for LWHRA members and $70 for non-members. Note that only the regular meal is available to walk-ins, and the fee must be paid on site.
