Join LWHRA for a morning jam-packed with real-world examples for creating an employee-centric culture, and earn three SHRM re-certification credits. Speaker Bio:

 Theresa Signorini

Theresa Signorini Treat is the Vice President of People Services (Human Resources, Payroll, and Training) for Ben Bridge Jeweler, a family-run business with 100 years of experience that became a part of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. in 2000. Ben Bridge has a singular mission, to help customers celebrate special moments by offering beautiful, high-quality jewelry and exceptional experience that is cherished by its customers across generations. Its corporate office is in Seattle, Washington with 100 stores (Ben Bridge and PANDORA) in 11 states including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington, as well as Canada. It is comprised of 1,000 employees.

Theresa began her career in labor relations and negotiations at the Alaska Public Employees Association (APEA) after receiving a Master of Arts degree in Labor and Industrial Relations. Her experience has been in privately owned, publicly traded, and equity purchased companies across various industries. Over the years, she has developed and executed global and U.S. Human Resources strategy in addition to setting up people service operations that were built to drive high performing cultures. Her most recent experience prior to joining Ben Bridge included acquisition and integration strategy and implementation for a competitive medical device company located in Redmond, Washington.

 

 

Karen Wren

Karen Wren manages benefits at Point B, Inc., a 100% employee-owned firm that is regularly honored as an exceptional place to work. With capabilities including Management Consulting, Venture Investment and Advisory, and Property Development, Point B helps organizations form, execute, and thrive.  Karen has been with the firm for over 12 years, developing and managing Point B's forward-thinking benefits strategy. Karen serves as co-chair of the Washington Health Alliance’s Purchaser Affinity Group and speaks regularly about the state of employee benefits with an emphasis on employee engagement, communications, and driving quality and affordability in healthcare.

 
 
David Rowlee

As the Managing Director & Practice Leader with the Employee Engagement Division, a part of the Gallagher Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice, David Rowlee oversees a team of highly skilled researchers and ensures the delivery of leading-edge measurement capabilities, advanced empirical analyses and innovative research studies to inform the operations and strategies of our clients.  David has more than 10 years of human capital research consulting experience with special emphasis in the field of survey research—including survey design, survey methodology, statistical analyses, and advanced behavioral modeling.

 

 

 

Mikaela Kiner

 

An HR professional for nearly twenty years, Mikaela has worked with leading companies including Microsoft, Starbucks, Amazon, Redfin, and PopCap Games. She has an MS in HR Management, is a certified executive coach, and experienced consultant. In 2015, Mikaela founded Reverb, a leading provider of flexible HR services helping to engage and inspire employees throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Mikaela enjoys coaching leaders at all levels and helping companies build healthy, inclusive cultures. She's been quoted in Fast Company and the Wall Street Journal, and is a member of the Forbes Human Resources Council. She’s the author of an upcoming book Female Firebrands: Stories and Techniques to Ignite Change, Take Control, and Succeed in the Workplace.

Waiting List:

If the registration deadline has passed, you are welcome to arrive at the venue at 7:00 AM and enter your name on the waiting list. We will accommodate walk-ins whenever space is available. The onsite registration fee is $100 for LWHRA members and $115 for non-members. Note that only the regular meal is available to walk-ins, and the fee must be paid on site.


Refund Policy:

LWHRA sets its registration fees as low as possible in order to make educational opportunities widely available. We will gladly issue refunds for event registrations that are canceled before the registration deadline. Because we need to make venue arrangements and order refreshments in advance, we are unable to refund registration fees after the deadline. No-shows who have registered but not paid in advance will be billed. Substitutions are always welcome. Please request your substitute to inform the registration desk that they are attending in your place.
