May Chapter Meeting Workshop

Presentation Description:

This year the LWHRA Programs Committee is trying out a new format for a couple of our chapter meetings. These chapters meetings will be called workshops. They will be half-day events, where attendees can earn up to three re-certification credits!

This May workshop will focus on the topic of harassment. There will be three speakers that will be diving into different aspects of the topic. The event will start at 7:15 AM and attendees will be on the road back to the office by 11:30 AM. LWHRA will provide a light breakfast, snack, and beverages.

"Employer Call to Action on Harassment"
Presentation

Kellis Borek, VP, Labor & Legal Services General Counsel, Archbright

Kellis will be talking about harassment from the legal perspective. She will provide a policy refresh, training updates, information on legislative changes, and she will talk about office romance post #metoo.



 

"HR’s Role in the Era of #metoo"

Rebecca Weaver, Head of People & Culture, Rational Interaction

Rebecca will be sharing a personal story. She will then discuss strategies and tactics employers can use to change the dialogue in the office which can turn their work culture around.


   

"How HR Can Help an Organization Move Forward Following a Harassment Investigation"

Trevor Ennis, HR Director, Seattle Division at Safeway Inc. 

Trevor will be sharing his experiences as an HR professional providing guidance and support on workplace investigations. He will discuss strategies for HR professionals as well as tips and tricks for line managers. He will also examine a few ways an organization can work to move forward after an event.

Registration Information:

Cost is $90 for LWHRA members and $105 for non-members. Attendees are asked to pre-register and pre-pay via our website registration process.
Pre-registration will close at 9:00 am on Monday, May 7th.

Waiting List:

If the registration deadline has passed, you are welcome to arrive at the venue at 7:30 a.m. and enter your name on the waiting list. We will accommodate walk-ins whenever space is available. The onsite registration fee is $100 for LWHRA members and $115 for non-members. Note that only the regular meal is available to walk-ins, and the fee must be paid on site.

Refund Policy:

LWHRA sets its registration fees as low as possible in order to make educational opportunities widely available. We will gladly issue refunds for event registrations that are canceled before the registration deadline. Because we need to make venue arrangements and order refreshments in advance, we are unable to refund registration fees after the deadline. No-shows who have registered but not paid in advance will be billed. Substitutions are always welcome. Please make substitution requests via email to [email protected].
