Please join our speakers Michael Humphries, Carllene Placide, and Lynn Parker.

  • Michael Humphries is the President of Waldron and Company, a talent management consultancy based in Seattle.  Mike has consulted with hundreds of senior executives and HR leaders through the RIF process and has gained insight on practices through his work.
  • Carleen Placide is a partner in the Labor & Employment Group at Dorsey.  She concentrates her practice on international business, employment law, employment litigation and OSHA/WISHA matters.
  • Lynn Parker co-founded Parker LePla, an integrated brand and marketing communications consultancy, with Joe LePla in 1994.  She is one of the early contributors to branding theory and has co-authored two best selling books on the topic.

This presentation will cover all aspects of planning and implementing a RIF - with an emphasis on how HR can provide leadership throughout the process.  From exploring alternatives to layoffs, scenario planning, legal considerations, notification logistics, external communication and branding, to post lay-off organization optimization, HR's role is central.
